AUDIO

Supported Formats
Transferring your old audio collection has never been easier!

Our audio transfer services will help you to convert your old audio cassettes and LP/Vinyl records to any digital format that you can share with family and friends for decades to come!

Cassettes

Picture
Once upon a time, Compact Cassettes were once the most popular format for recording and storing audio. Since the rise of the "Digital Age", audio formats such as CD and MP3's have become the "standard" for audio recordings. Compact Cassettes have also become obsolete and more difficult to listen to.

At Yellow Lantern Productions, we can convert your precious recordings to a digital format.

LP/Vinyl

Picture
Although they are now becoming harder and harder to find, LPs or vinyl records, were once the most popular format for listening to music. If you still have a collection of your favorite records, we suggest converting them today!

Our vinyl to digital services will help you to transfer your vinyl records and preserve their unique sound into archival mp3's, so they will be safe for a lifetime.

Audio Restoration

Picture
Audio restoration services can help restore your audio into a recording with a clearer, fuller sound. Over the years, audio recorded onto analog media will degrade and the sound will fade or muffle. Our talented in-house audio technician has the skills and experience to bring your audio back to life.
Basic Info
  • A "media piece" is one cassette, one reel, one record, etc. up to 2 hours in length. Save 20% off restoration costs with 6 or more pieces.
  • This service is for audio restoration on digital files only. If your audio is contained on an analog source, it first must go through our audio transfer services. If audio source is physically damaged, a tape repair may be necessary.
  • Prices above do not include initial transfer costs.
  • You will receive the original recording plus the restored version when you pick up your order. Files are kept on our local machines for no longer than 30 days. We can transfer your audio to CD, DVD, Blu-ray or hard drive.
  • If you intend to have us store your files on a USB storage device which already has content written to it, there will be a $15 setup fee. There is no fee if your storage device does not have data you wish to keep on it, if it was purchased through our services, or if we have used the device before to store your files.

Audio Restoration Samples

The SoundCloud player below will allow you to listen to some samples of digital restoration projects by Yellow Lantern.

We have two different levels of service available: basic and advanced.

Basic Restoration: The basic restoration service will provide you with a solid once-over using preset values on high-quality audio restoration software. This will ensure that your audio is at a relatively equal volume throughout, noise, pops, and clicks will be moderately reduced, and the overall tone of the piece will be a bit brighter and more lively. This is a great option if you want to give your transfer a little more kick and a little extra shine without breaking the bank. All audio transfers will benefit from this service!

Advanced Restoration: The advanced restoration service will provide you with a highly customized and dynamic restorative experience with your transfer. Our dedicated audio engineer will utilize every resource at their disposal to unlock the potential of your transferred media. No presets will be used, all modification values will be set by hand to adapt to the specific needs of your audio and guarantee that the resulting product sounds its very best. The engineer will work closely with you to discuss your preferences and expectations to customize the process even further to your unique perspective – not everyone has the same ear, priorities, or preferences when it comes to restoring audio!

No matter which service you choose, you will receive a copy of the original audio as well as the restored version so that you may compare then and see the impact our service made for yourself.

Choosing Basic vs. Advanced
Not sure which level of restoration you want to purchase? Completely understandable! It’s not always clear-cut as to what will come of each service when it comes to your specific media. Each type of media has its own unique characteristics and will yield different results depending upon which service you choose. 33 1/3 speed vinyl LPs tend to benefit greatly from advanced restoration while professionally recorded and well-maintained audio cassettes may only benefit from noise reduction covered by the basic restoration.

That said, the advanced level service will always give you the best possible results. By purchasing advanced restoration, you are guaranteed the maximum level of clarity and definition that can be acquired from your media. Our dedicated audio engineer will utilize every tool and skill in their arsenal to ensure your satisfaction and will work closely with you to fully understand and, to the best of their ability, fulfil your expectations. Bear in mind that if you choose to purchase the advanced restoration service and we discover that your media only requires basic restoration to accomplish maximum quality you will be informed as such and will only be charged for the basic restoration performed. This falls directly in line with our ideal of customers paying only for what they receive.
